What is it that you do to let go?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 13, 2008:
I don't let go. Whatever happens, who ever comes into my life, is still there in my heart, making my life stronger. Everything, everybody goes into my stories. It's all still there, even if time or space or even death comes between us. Actually, that makes it much easier to move on in my life.

well, Holly, there is a Zen Koan in what you write, I am sure…. Not letting go, indeed fully engaging with whatever arises both inside and outside, seems to be the most sure fired way to 'let go' of the bit by bit, never-ending, always-changing outcome of the drama, and by doing so said open to the next adventure, the arising engagement, and the arising bit of outcome from that adventure……. Thanks. I love what you've said.Jane
I tend to agree Holly, we let go physically but people stay in our heart even if we don't see them for a while.ready to surface, today I read a poem about bluebells and it reminded me of my sweet daughter in law who died of cancer three years ago.
I love your response. Of course, embrace it all!!! Sounds like you use writing as a way to process things and it's an outlet of sorts. I do too. I journal like crazy, and write essays on issues that are meaningfull. I sometimes write about things that have happened in my life, but I do less of that. I love to go back and read them because they remind me of people, place, experiences – then I can move on again.
Thanks for your wonderful response.
I guess the trick is to never really own a person or thing, then you don't have to “let go.”
