This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 24, 2008:
I have been waiting for about a week now to upload this drawing. I'll try again....Once I heard a sermon on the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. The preist explained that the verbs "waiting" and "watching" have BECOME passive verbs (You wait for the bus, you watch a tennis match) but they were originally ACTIVE verbs (waiting on table, watching through the night.) Having been a waitress for many years i could relate to that. to be a good server, you wait for the appropiate moment to take the order and to clear and to serve. Like a sentenial, you must be alert. In that sense waiting is more about presence than patience.
